THROUGH THE DECADES
1947
J. Sirois Electric Creation
Founded in 1947 by Jean Sirois, J. Sirois électrique began as a small family business specializing in residential electrical repairs and installations. From its inception, the company distinguished itself through its commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.
1965-1970
A first generation of successors for the founder
Although he had accompanied electricians since the young age of 10, it was after taking his technical course in electricity that Claude Sirois, son of Mr. Jean Sirois, finally realized his passion: that of working in the family business.
It was in 1970 that Claude and his brother Pierre officially took over the reins of the company founded by their father.
1970-1975
Growth and diversification
The following years were marked by growth and diversification of services. The company carried out several large-scale projects both abroad and in the region, notably a gold ore plant project in Algeria in 1973, and the lighting of the Niobec mine plant in Saguenay in 1975.
1975-2000
Recognized industrial expertise
The company's reputation allows it to serve the industrial electrical needs of major clients, such as Alcan and Abitibi Consolidated. Numerous projects mark Sirois' history in the region and on the North Shore, including the Alcan Arvida Calcination Centre, the Alcan plant in Grande-Baie, the Alcan plant in Laterrière, and the Alouette aluminum smelter in Sept-Îles.
1987
The family story continues
It is now the turn of Sylvain and Denis Sirois, sons of Jean Sirois, to join the company by working there as electricians.
1995
Distinguishing between areas of expertise
The company created a separate entity for its industrial operations and its residential store. This marked the birth of Entreprise d'électricité Sirois.
2002
Retirement
Claude and Sylvain are taking a well-deserved retirement, and leaving the family business under the management of their brothers Richard and Pierre.
2006-2015
A new lineup of shareholders
During this period, the company benefited from the invaluable contribution of new shareholders, including: Romain Fafard, Eng.; Luc Sirois, CPA; Jean-François Sirois, electrician; Dominic Simard; and Isabelle Sirois. These key players are continuing the development of the well-established company.
2015-2021
Retirement for pillars
In 2015, Pierre and Richard Sirois retired. In 2021, the retirement of Isabelle Sirois and Romain Fafard led to the integration of a new partner, Jean-Pier Tremblay, an electrician.
2023
The end of operations for J.Sirois electric
This is the official closure of the store under the J.Sirois entity.
Sirois Electricity Company continues its operations.
2024
Recognized expertise in electrical solutions
New shareholders and a new generation of leaders have joined the existing shareholder team (Dominic Simard, Luc Sirois, and Jean-Pierre Tremblay). Thomas Bergeron—Jean Sirois' second grandson to join the team—continues the work begun by his grandfather.
With over 75 years of experience in electrical solutions, Entreprise d'électricité Sirois continues its main activities and positions itself thanks to its reputation and recognized expertise in electrical solutions.
